Spring 2026 Update: 62,000+ Books, Book Clubs, and What's Next

It's been a busy few months since our soft launch in February, and we wanted to share what we've been working on.

62,000+ Books and Growing

Our library has grown from around 50,000 books at launch to over 62,000 curated titles spanning every genre from literary fiction to true crime, fantasy to memoir. Every book in Novelly has a spoiler-free description written specifically so you can decide if a story is for you — without ruining the experience.

We're constantly adding new releases and filling gaps in our catalog. If there's a genre or era you'd love to see more of, let us know.

Book Clubs Are Here

One of our most-requested features is live: private book clubs. You can now:

  • Create a club and invite friends with a simple link
  • Schedule meetings with date, time, and location (virtual or in-person)
  • Start reading challenges to keep everyone on track
  • Run polls to vote on what to read next
  • Post and discuss in your club's feed

Book clubs are free for everyone. We built them because the best reading experiences happen when you share them with people you trust — not strangers on the internet.

Smarter Recommendations

Our recommendation engine now learns from your swipes. The more you use Novelly, the better it gets at surfacing books you'll actually love. We factor in your genre preferences, community reading data, and a bit of randomness to help you discover things outside your comfort zone.

What's Next

We're working on a few things we're really excited about:

  • iOS app — a native experience for iPhone and iPad
  • Enhanced book details — author bios, similar books, and richer metadata
  • Reading stats — track your reading habits and see your year in review

Thank you to everyone who's been using Novelly these past few weeks. We read every piece of feedback and it directly shapes what we build. If you haven't tried it yet, start swiping — it takes about 30 seconds to find your first match.

Happy reading.
